Practitioner Foundation Practice Exercises
Suggested PreRequisites:
1. To complete this practice exercise, you must use an Aeon Trial Account. We provide these during trials or onboarding.
2. It is best if this exercise is completed after Practitioner Foundations Training Session 2.
3. All assets (cards) referred to are provided by Aeon Support. Contact us if you don't have them or require an updated copy.

STORY |
The specialist’s response has been received for Nancy Needle’s ophthalmology concern. During the follow-up, Nancy’s parent also reports that she has appeared unusually pale and has had a reduced appetite. |

OBJECTIVE |
Review the Consult, document the follow-up in a new Chart Note, create a laboratory Requisition, assign follow-up work, and update the Consult status. |

Create a General Task for STAFF to add Acme Pediatric Ophthalmology to Aeon so that it can be chosen. They should do so and send out the Consult when complete.

| 21 | Review the print, download, and fax options |
| 22 | For this training scenario, assume the Requisition was faxed |
| 23 | Update the Requisition status to Pending Results |
| 24 | Sign and Save the Chart Note |
| 25 | Return to the original Consult from Dr. Patel |
| 26 | Update its status from Results Received to Completed |
| 27 | Confirm that the following are visible in Nancy’s Patient Profile:

By completing this exercise, you now understand that:
- A Consult is used when referring a patient to another provider
- A Requisition is used when ordering a test
- Consult and Requisition statuses show where each item is in its lifecycle
- Tasks created in the moment ensure nothing gets lost
- A new Chart Note documents decisions made after receiving a specialist report
