Description
Screenings help healthcare providers easily create, manage, and set reminders for upcoming prevention screenings for their patients. This handy feature includes using a standardized list of screening types, recording their status, tracking results, setting up future reminders, and reviewing historical data through the timeline.
Some common tasks you will perform with this feature include:
- Create new screening records from index or chart notes.
- Screening type is to be selected from a pre-defined list, with the ability to create an “Other” with free-text to enter a screening that’s not included in the list.
- Update screening records during follow-up visits to highlight the continuity of care.
- View screening status, due dates, and associated test results.
- Archive outdated or irrelevant screenings.
- Checks for medication interactions and adverse reactions with allergens.
- Task reminders are generated for when screenings are due within 2 weeks.
- Access timeline for audit of historical actions and comments on screening records.
Screenings are a key part of preventive care and can be easily created and reviewed in a few ways:
A. Chart Notes: These can be created and edited during patient visits.
B. Screening Index: This offers a consolidated view of all patient screenings, allowing you to create and edit screening details and results.
C. Patient Sidebar: Provides quick access to recent screenings during patient interactions.

Screenings Limitations
These are topics that we are aware of and working to address in the future:
- Connecting Screenings to documents, issues, and consult workflows
- Allow users to set a cadence for how often a test needs to be done (e.g. pap smear every 4 years)
- Integration with third-party for:
- Recommended schedule of screenings based on patient demographics and health status
- Updated list of screenings based on new or changing screening guidelines
- Patient reminders for upcoming screenings
- Predictive analytics for screening recommendations based on health trends
- Family history integrated with screening recommendations
Screening Issues
These are current issues that we are aware of:
-
- Customizing screening guidelines based on regional or institutional requirements
- Limited reporting options in MVP for advanced analytics on screening trends
