Practitioner Foundation Practice Exercises
Suggested PreRequisites:
1. To complete this practice exercise, you must use an Aeon Trial Account. We provide these during trials or onboarding.
2. It is best if this exercise is completed after Practitioner Foundations Training Session 2.
3. All assets (cards) referred to are provided by Aeon Support. Contact us if you don't have them or require an updated copy.

STORY |
You are completing your end-of-day review when you find a File Review Task for Bob Builder. His FIT/FOBT result is positive and requires follow-up. |

OBJECTIVE |
Review and acknowledge the result, update Bob’s Screening information, and assign the required follow-up work to clinic staff. |

🎓 No Task Found for this Patient
We are going to refer to the File Review Task for Bob Builder. This Task may have already been closed in your account in the process of reviewing/closing high priority Tasks. But have no fear! We are going to send it back to the Inbox as if it never was seen.

| 1 | Go to your Tasks |
| 2 | Go to File Review |
| 3 | If you DO have a File Review Task for Bob Builder, go to Step If you DO NOT have this Task, continue to the next step |
| 4 | Click the All Tasks |
| 5 | Click Filter |
| 6 |
Filter to only show:

| 7 | Click on the Task for the File Review for Bob Builder to open it |
| 8 | On the right side-bar, click Remove Acknowledgement |
| 9 | Go back to your File Review Tasks |
| 10 | Open the File Review Task |
| 11 | Review the result and recommendations |
| 12 | Acknowledge the File as read |
| 13 | Create a Booking Task for Staff to book Bob for an urgent appointment to discuss the result |

⏱️ Assume some time has passed

| 14 | In the Calendar, open Bob Builder's appointment |
| 15 | Update the status to In Progress |
| 16 | Start a new Chart Note |
| 17 | Attach the File to the Chart Note |
| 18 | Open the Screenings sub-tab of Bob's Patient Profile |
| 19 | Update the FIT/FOBT Screening using the date and result shown on the report |
| 20 | Record the result as abnormal |
| 21 | Add an appropriate Timeline comment noting that the information came from the transferred laboratory report |
| 22 | Go back to the Chart Note |
| 23 | Add a short note about what you discussed with Bob |
| 24 | Sign and Save the Note |
| 25 | Update the Appointment Status to Complete |
🎉 You have successfully reviewed and actioned an abnormal result
By completing this exercise, you now understand that:
- Acknowledging a File and arranging clinical follow-up are separate actions
- Booking Tasks direct staff to create patient appointments
- Screening records should be updated when new results are received
- Tasks help ensure abnormal results do not fall through the cracks
