STORY

Sarin Singh, who prefers to be called Ramesh, is a new patient. His previous clinic has sent a transferred medical records package, but his Aeon Patient Profile is currently empty.

OBJECTIVE

Review transferred records, upload and link the source document, and add key clinical information to Sarin’s Aeon record.

🎓 Training Note:  Populating the Patient Profile with Historical Records

It may be more common for the MOAs or other staff to complete the task of bringing over records and transferring them to Aeon when a new patient joins your clinic.  In the interests of learning, we will assume that this wasn't able to be done, and therefore you must do so.

🔒 Staff have different permissions than Practitioners in Aeon when it comes to items in the Patient Profile.  This article lays out this information.

By completing this exercise, you now understand that:

  • The original transferred document should remain available in Files as the source record
  • Important clinical information should also be entered as structured Aeon components
  • Issues, Histories, Medications, Measurements, and Screenings make transferred information easier to find and use
  • Timeline comments and linked Files help show where historical information came from
  • Tasks identify follow-up work that still needs attention
