Suggested PreRequisites:
1. To complete this practice exercise, you must use an Aeon Trial Account. We provide these during trials or onboarding.
2. It is best if this exercise is completed after Practitioner Foundations Training Session 1.
3. All assets (cards) referred to are provided by Aeon Support. Contact us if you don't have them or require an updated copy.

STORY |
A new patient, Chao Chen (55), is joining your practice and booked an appointment for a prescription refill. You’re building his chart and entering his chronic conditions and relevant medical history. |

Document today’s visit, add chronic issues, update meds and allergies, and arrange screenings. |

It's a hectic day in the clinic and Chao is a new patient. Typically the MOA would prepare his Patient Profile in advance with his medical history but this was a last minute appointment so some things you will tackle yourself. This will give you the opportunity to learn about more areas of Aeon.

Chao's appointment was marked as a Phone Call but it should be In Person. Typically the admin would handle this but today you'll change it and learn about editing Appointment Details. In the Appointment Details, click edit, change the Appointment Type, then click Update Appointment. |

Typically your MOA would have done this but today you'll record current meds prescribed to him by his last GP by creating 3 Medication embeds (Not Prescriptions) Metformin 1000 mg BID; Lisinopril 20 mg daily; Atorvastatin 40 mg HS |

🎓 Prescriptions vs Medications - A Reminder If you look at your Charting Quick Start Guide - Medications or Prescriptions you'll see that: Medications record drugs the patient is taking or has taken that were prescribed outside Aeon, such as ramipril prescribed by a cardiologist. Prescriptions are new medication orders created in Aeon to give to the patient or send to a pharmacy, such as amoxicillin prescribed today.

- Creating a Chart Note sets the foundation for the visit and ensures all documentation stays linked to the correct encounter.
- Issues track active/chronic problems like HTN, T2DM, and hyperlipidemia.
- Medications and Allergies can be easily added to the patient profile, helping you maintain an accurate and safe medication list.
- Screenings and reminders can be set up directly in the chart to support preventative care and ongoing monitoring for chronic conditions.
