Sarah Sampson: Morning Start and Chart Note Creation

Sarah Sampson has arrived for her appointment. Reception has checked her in. |

OBJECTIVE |
Use Tasks and the Calendar to review the day, open Sarah’s appointment, review relevant patient information, start a Chart Note, use free text and an embeds, finalize the Chart Note at the end of the visit. |
Learner Instructions
1. Use the Clinic Day card to identify where the practitioner day begins
2. Open Tasks and scan File Review, Urgent, and Overdue work - complete any of these listed
3. Open Calendar and locate Sarah Sampson
4. Review the reason for visit and update the status to In Progress
5. Start a new Chart Note
6. From the Chart Note, review the last Chart Note on Sara's profile
7. When done, return back to the new Chart Note for today
8. Review the following areas in the right side-bar of Sarah's Chart Note: Issues, Medications, Allergies, and Files
9. In the Chat Note, change the title to something else
10. Sarah is here to talk about her depression and how it is worse. She also needs her yearly flu shot. Link any appropriate items from her history to the Chart Note (from the right side-bar)
11. Check Sarah's Allergies and current Medications. Create a new Prescription for a different medication for her depression. Don't fax it out, but download it for Sara to take it with her.
12. Complete the Sertraline Medication in the Medication tab
11. Create a very short SOAP note
12. Create an embed for the flu shot
11. Confirm the Saved indicator is visible as you type and at the bottom of the page
12. Leave the Chart Note without selecting Sign and Save
13. Open Tasks and locate the automatically created incomplete Chart Note Task
14. Use the Task to reopen the Draft Chart Note
15. Add a Task for Staff to book Sarah in for a followup in 20 days
16. Sign and Save the note
17. Click the "Immunizations"sub-tab in the Patient Profile and find the entry for today's flu shot
18. Go to Tasks in the left side-bar and see that the Task for completing the Chart Note was closed
